The annual Christmas Lights Festival comes to Oxford’s on Friday, November 15 through Sunday, November 17, 2019. The three-day festival includes light and sound installations, a festive market, music, dance, and free activities in venues across the city.
This year’s theme, “Discovery,” is inspired by scientific discovery and the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Be prepared to see Oxford’s streets and buildings in a new light as commissioned artworks and presentations fill the city for this special weekend. Some of the town’s most iconic buildings open their doors for free festive events while musicians, dancers, and choirs appear on stages and in pop-up locations throughout the city centre. Exciting light installations illuminate the proceedings as the festival is launched by a lantern parade winding its way through the streets with artist inspired luminous creations.
This year’s festival dates/time are:
- Friday 15 November 12pm – 10pm
- Saturday 16 November 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sunday 17 November 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
